CEDAR FALLS - Terry D. Gilmore, 61, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born June 25, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, son of Donavon M. and Esther H. Nievas Gilmore. He married Linda Williams on Feb. 22, 1968, at the Old Wartburg Chapel, Waverly.

Mr. Gilmore served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received his economics degree from the University of Northern Iowa. He was an insurance claims adjuster for many years with United Fire and Casualty, Cedar Rapids.

Survived by his wife; a son, Chad A. of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Susan K. (George) DeGroote of Cedar Falls; a brother-in-law, Jeffrey G. (Kim) Marsh of Hudson; a nephew, Brandon (Jasmine) Marsh; four nieces, Melissa and Sarah Marsh, Christine (Dan) McGrath and Crystal Nicole DeGroote (friend Trevor Burns); a great-nephew, Sean McGrath; two great-nieces, Erin McGrath and Zoey Nicole Burns; and best friend, Jim Sale.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Stacey C.

Memorial services: 10 a.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls. Military rites will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association.
