Geraldine H. Youngblut, 77, of Motley, Minn., formerly of Jesup, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005, at Greater Staples Hospital, Staples, Minn., following a lengthy illness.

She was born May 27, 1928, in Waterloo, daughter of Arthur Weber and Veronica Mishak Weber. She married John P. "Jack" Youngblut on Aug. 13, 1947, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville. He preceded her in death in 1987.

Mrs. Youngblut farmed with her husband in the Gilbertville and Washburn area until 1960 and then west of Jesup.

Survived by four sons, Richard "Smokey" (Diane) and Ed (Lisa), both of Jesup, Pat (Mary) of Independence and Chris (Sandy) of Waterloo; five daughters, Diane Youngblut of Jesup, Carolyn (Robert) Lohman of Motley, Jane (Rich) Toothman of Evansdale, LuAnn (Al) Butkiewicz of Omro, Wis., and Renae (Kevin) Wellman of Mesa, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth E. (Eleanor) Weber of Jesup and Wayne R. (LaVonne) Weber of Waterloo; and two sisters, Donna (Mike) Fettkether of Dunkerton and Helene (Larry) Wegner of Spencer.

Preceded in death by three sons, John Gerald, William and Mike; a daughter, Mary Elaine Youngblut; and two grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 7:30 p.m. today and after 2 p.m. Monday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a 3 p.m. Catholic Daughters and Foresters rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service Monday. Visitation also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to St. Athanasius Catholic Church or the Alzheimers Association of East Central Iowa.
