Funeral services are pending at the Locke Funeral Home for Harvey W. Turner, 68, of 1640 W. llth St., who died at St. Francis Hospital at 2:30 p.m. Saturday of a heart attack.
He was born in Waterloo on June 8. 1904, the son of William and Nellie Ackerman Turner. He married Blossom Yockey on May 28, 1927 in Waterloo.
Mr. Turner was a member of the Waterloo fire department for 35 years. He joined the department on March 16, 1932. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1948 and retired in 1967
Mr. Turner was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Waterloo Elks Lodge No. 290, and the International Association of Fire Fighters Local No. 66.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Ed McCool, 420 Third St. North of Raymond; Mrs. Darlene Nagel of 1357 Huntington Road; one sister. Mrs. Howard Sandergard of 1651 Newell St.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
