CEDAR FALLS - J. Edward Baker, 69, of the Western Home Communities, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

He was born Feb. 27, 1944, in Cedar Falls, son of Rodney and Margaret Morgan Baker.

A graduate of Vinton School for the Blind, Mr. Baker had worked at Hy-Vee College Square for more than 20 years and the Cedar Falls Redemption Center for several years.

Survived by a brother, Dean of Newton; a nephew, Chad (Jana) Baker of Waukee; a niece, Julie (Brian) Kingery of Pella; and three grandnephews and nieces, Brett, Loren and A.J. Kingery, all of Pella.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Washington Chapel Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials in lieu of flowers, may be directed to the Western Home Communities or the church.
