WATERLOO - Jacqueline J. "Jackie" Dunbar Redden, 82, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of congestive heart failure.

She was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Ottawa, Kan., daughter of Stuart H. and Rene Lambert Dunbar. She married James L. Redden May 19, 1946, in Salina, Kan. He preceded her in death July 26, 2001.

She was a legal secretary for 27 years, retiring in 1989, a charter/life member of the AMVETS Auxiliary #19, Waterloo, and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by two sons, James Stuart (Patty) Redden of Delhi and John William (Linda) Redden of Lakewood, Colo.; a daughter, Jane R. (Gary) Tangen of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Angela D. Miller of Cedar Falls, and Carrie M. (Ryan) Etten and Chad (Angie) Brickman, both of Waterloo; three great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband; three sisters, Jere Brown, Jane Stephenson and Joyce Reeves; and a grandson, Nathan Redden.

Services: By her request, there will be no visitation or service. Public graveside inurnment will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Fairview Cemetery, Waterloo. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, Waterloo AMVETS Auxiliary #19 Scholarship Fund, Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Valley Hospice Home or to the family.
