WATERLOO - Robert R. Turner, 54, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer.

He was born Jan. 29, 1952, in Waterloo, son of Amos and Wanda Mae Jacobs Turner. He married Kelly Martinez on June 19, 1982, at St. John's Catholic Church in Waterloo and they later divorced.

Mr. Turner graduated from Orange High School in 1970. He worked at Rath Packing Co., worked construction, then worked at IBP. He was one of the first employees hired at IBP. Most recently, he worked as a Federal Meat Inspector in Marshalltown and at Tyson Foods in Waterloo.

Survivors include his father of Waterloo; a son, Mike of Cedar Falls; and a sister, Teri Klockner of La Porte City.

Preceded in death by his mother; and a brother-in-law, Paul Klockner.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before services Thursday at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the family or Cedar Valley Hospice.

Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and music. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
