WATERLOO - Donald E. Osborne, 81, of Waterloo, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born April 25, 1925, in Moline, Ill., daughter of Robert and Verna Newell Osborne. He married Judith Hey Aug. 28, 1986, in Victorville, Calif.

He graduated while serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Ocean. Mr. Osborne worked for various trucking firms throughout the years and most recently at R&A Trucking, retiring in 1989. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a member of Community Church of Hudson, Masonic Lodge No. 969 in East Moline, Ill., and Hudson AMVETS Post 82.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Brian (Alice) of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Todd of Springfield, Mo.; three daughters, Cheryl (Frank) Woodard of Colorado, Jerri Nupp of Pompano Beach and Angela Osborne of Milwaukee; a stepdaughter, Athena "Tina" Smith of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Holly, Heather and Kyle Smith; a brother, Stanton of Murphys, Calif.; and a sister, Lela Mae Pompa of East Moline, Ill.

Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Donna Murphy; and a brother, Howard.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, with burial in the Hudson Cemetery, Hudson. Military rites will be conducted by Hudson AMVETS Post 82, Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
