Plans for graveside services here for a former resident, Clyde A. Smith, 86, are pending at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith died Saturday of a stomach ailment in a hospital in Santa Monica, Calif., where he had been residing since 1952. Services are set for Tuesday at Santa Monica and the body is expected to arrive in Waterloo Wednesday.

Mr. Smith was born August 17, 1880, in Taylor County and resided near Manson before moving to Waterloo in 1905. He was employed as a letter carrier for the Waterloo Post Office for 33 years until his retirement in 1933. He married Emma Landis Jan. 1, 1912.

She survives him, along with two sons: Donald of Santa Monica and Robert of Pacific Palisades, Calif.
