Ricky K. "Rick" LeQuatte, 61, of Waterloo, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Allen Memorial Hospital of esophogeal cancer.

He was born January 28, 1947 in Waterloo son of Lloyd Pat and Lena Pauline Hanson LeQuatte. He married Susan M. Lown on Februay 5, 1966 at St. Edward Catholic Church Waterloo. He was a 1965 graduate of Waterloo West High School and was employed with the City of Waterloo in parking maintenance for 30 years retiring in 2006. Rick served with the US Army special forces unit in Germany from 1966 to 1968.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Teresa (Ken) Shock of Waterloo and Dawn (Mark) Sculco of Dillon, CO; three grandchildren: Desiree, Dalton and Isabelle Shock of Waterloo; his mother of Cocoa, Florida; his brother Mike (Karen) of Cocoa, Fl.

Preceded in death by his father; two brothers-in-law Randy and Terry Lown.

Rick was a lifetime member of the Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and a member of the Military Honor Guard.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial in Koszta Cemetery Koszta Iowa. The Waterloo and Evansdale AMVETS Posts 19 & 31 will conduct full military rites at the church. Public visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation will continue for one hour before services at the church on Friday.
