WATERLOO - Lois I. Johnson, 90, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Bartels Lutheran Home, Waverly, of natural causes.

She was born July 27, 1915, in Waterloo, daughter of Alvin and Maggie Glessner Lichty. She married Vernon C. Johnson on Aug. 17, 1935, in Beaverton, Mich. He died Jan. 12, 1988.

Mrs. Johnson was a 1932 graduate of Orange High School. She and her husband farmed in Eagle Center from 1935 to 1950. She also was an organist at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and South Waterloo Church of the Brethren.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice K. (Gene) Jamtgaard of Nora Springs and Eileen L. (Dennis) Duckett of Tripoli; five grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Mae Valente and Olive Lucille Nearing; and a grandson.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Orange Township Cemetery. Public visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to South Waterloo Church of the Brethren.
