CEDAR FALLS - Gertrude Byggere, 96, of Cedar Falls, died at home Friday, Dec. 27, 2013.

She was born Nov. 5, 1917, in Fulda, Minn., daughter of James and Alyce Schwab McCormick. She married Harvey Byggere on Jan. 19, 1946, in Worthington; he died Dec. 24, 2009.

She attended St. Gabrielle School, Fulda High School and Minneapolis Business College. She worked for IDS, Minneapolis, and J.S. Latta Co., Cedar Falls, for 30 years, and also worked at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works.

Survived by a daughter, Mary (Gordon Pint) Byggere of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Joseph McCormick,

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with a 4 p.m. rosary. Visitation also an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
