DEATH OF JOSEPH WARNEKA.

Had Been a Resident of Bennington Township Over Thirty Years.

Was 74-Years Old.

Joseph Warneka, a pioneer resident of Blackhawk County, died last Wednesday morning at his home in this city, 508 Ankeny Street, after a short illness with congestion of the bowels. His illness had not been considered serious until a few hours before his death.

Although more than 74 years of age he had been in good health and was able to be about until a few days ago.

Joseph Warneka was born in Germany October 4, 1828. He came to this country with his parents at an early age. About thirty years ago he came to Blackhawk County and settled in Bennington Township where he lived until about two years ago when he moved to his present home in Waterloo.

He is survived by his wife and three sons who are prominent farmers in Bennington Township. His only daughter is Mrs. Fenstennaker, of this city.

Mr. Warneka was a member of the Lutheran church. The funeral services were held at the home of Ankeny Streets at 2 o'ciock this afternoon. Interment was made at Fairview.
