WARNEKA, TEETER, FENSTERMAKER

August Warneka, 72, who was formerly active as a carpenter contractor and who had been a resident of Waterloo for 65 years, died at 12:35 p.m. Thursday at his home, 209 High street, of a complication of diseases incident to advanced age.

He had been in ill health for seven years, and had been confined to his bed for the last two weeks.

August Warneka was born Aug. 3, 1860, in Berlin, Germany, the son of Joseph and Mary Warneka. He came to America with his parents when he was 6 years old. They settled in Illinois but came to Waterloo shortly afterward.

He married Viva O. Teeter, April 7, 1887 in Waterloo.

Surviving besides the widow are a son, Clarence L. Warneka, two daughters, Mrs. Adelia Mae Fenstermaker, 230 Barclay street south, and Mrs. Marie Matilda Yaggy, Bristol, S.D.; 17 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother, Mouts Warneka, Waldena, Minn., and a sister, Mrs. E.D. Fenstermaker, 504 Ankeny street.

One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

He attended First Lutheran church. The body was taken to the O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home.
