Dalton Eugene YoungBear, 21, of Toledo, died Dec. 6, 2013, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born Dec. 2, 1992, in Waterloo, son of Ann Stark.

He previously attended Meskwaki High School and graduated in 2011 from Riverside Indian School, Anadarko, Okla. He then attended Haskell Indian Nations University, Lawrence, Kan., for a year. He later put together his own event promoting and management company, YoungBear Productions.

Survived by his mother, Ann Stark-Perez, (Leopoldo Perez); a brother, Lawrence Black Cloud; two stepbrothers, Anthony and Daniel Perez; his grandparents, Eleanore Stark, and Leonard and Chloe YoungBear; his girlfriend, Mikailah Thompson; his uncles, Ray YoungBear, Russell (JoAnn) YoungBear and Steven Kapayou; his aunts, Clara (Wayne) Hinman, Shelley Kapayou, Becky and Marcine YoungBear; his cousins, Laura Fokkena (Connor Durflinger), Lisa Fokkena and Rakaya El-Kasaby; and several other cousins and many friends.

Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eugene Stark.

Traditional graveside services were held Dec. 8 at the Meskwaki Cemetery near Tama.
