CEDAR FALLS - Donald M. Jorgensen, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 18, 1920, in Black Hawk County, son of John and Marie Paulsen Jorgensen. He married Lila Garner on July 14, 1945, in New Hartford; she died Dec. 15, 1998.

Mr. Jorgensen served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a POW. He was employed as a carpenter with Jorgensen Construction.

Survived by a son, David of Texas; three grandchildren, Christie (Kirk) Beatty, Chad (Tessa) Jorgensen and Justin Adam; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Susan) of Cedar Falls; and a sister, Ruth Kajer of Iowa City.

Preceded in death by a sister, Alice Herring; and a daughter, Terri Jorgensen.

Graveside services: 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hillside Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Visitation from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.
