CEDAR FALLS - Garnet Blohn, 81 of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at the Western Home Communities Martin Center.

He was born June 13, 1932, in Atlantic, son of Milton and Ruth Welton Blohn. On Nov. 8, 1954, he married Lorna Boseck in Griswald.

He graduated from Atlantic high school in 1950 and went on to attend a college in Maryville, Mo. He served in the U.S. Marines and then served in the National Guard after moving to Cedar Falls. He taught business at Glidden and Storm Lake high school for five years, and then went on to work for the federal government, retiring after 30 years of service.

Survived by his wife; three sons, David (Sandy) of Washington, Edward (Jennifer) of South Carolina and Alan of California; five grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wanda (Dar) Petersen of Arizona.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Terry.

Private services were conducted. Iowa Cremation Society, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
