WATERLOO - Eleanor M. Wayson, 100, of Waterloo, formerly of Independence, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Affinity House.

She was born April 27, 1913, in Walford, daughter of William and Anna Hoard Kimm. She married Carl H. Wayson on May 18, 1938, in Klemme; he died in 1978.

A graduate of Walford High School, she attended Mercy School of Nursing, Cedar Rapids. Mrs. Wayson was a homemaker and also worked for several years as a nurse's aide at People’s Memorial Hospital, Independence. She was a former member of St. John Catholic Church, Independence, and a current member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Survived by two daughters, Sharon (John) Herman of Waterloo and Cheryl (Greg) Dopson of Kansas City, Mo.; two sons-in-law, William Cool of Excelsior, Minn., and Vern Wilkinson of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Charlotte Hessinus of Cedar Rapids.

Preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sheila Cool; a great-grandson; two sisters, Kathryn and Janet; and four brothers, Raymond, Charles, Edward and Robert Kimm.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Waterloo, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Independence. Kearns Funeral Service, Kimball Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
