WATERLOO -- Katherine “Elaine” Meyerhoff, 88, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at NorthCrest Specialty Care of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 12, 1925, in New Hampton, daughter of Walter and Harriet Johnston Schultz. She married Albert Meyerhoff on June 22, 1944, at New Hampton Methodist Church; he died Dec. 15, 1997.

A 1942 graduate of New Hampton High School, Mrs. Meyerhoff worked for the Waterloo Public Library for many years. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she was a part of the choir and the Women's Group.

Survived by two sons, Mark (Cathy) of Waterloo and Keith (Leslie) of Carmel Valley, Calif.; four grandchildren, Nathan Meyerhoff of Albuquerque, N.M., Megan Meyerhoff of Waterloo, Jamie (Andrew Danielson) Meyerhoff of Carmel Valley and Jessamyn (Gene) Meyerhoff of Berkeley, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Ryonen Danielson, both of Carmel Valley; a brother, Eugene (Ruth) Schultz of New Hampton; and a sister, Evelyn Ihlenfeldt of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Lee and Arthur Schultz.

Family-directed memorial service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. According to her wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa deeded body program. There will be no visitation, but family will greet friends at the church following the service for a time of fellowship. Locke Funeral Home assisted the family.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Waterloo Public Library.
