WATERLOO -- Elizabeth Alyene Sims, 96, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Oct. 14, 1917, in Stockton, Ill., daughter of Lysle W. and Geraldine A. McCarthy Watt. She married James Sims on June 10, 1942; he died March 10, 1958.

Mrs. Sims was employed at First Federal Savings & Loan for 30 years, retiring in 1988.

Survived by three daughters, Mary Kay (Ray) Larsen of Waterloo, Margaret (Pete) Scurto of Round Lake Beach, Ill., and Ann (Tom) Olson of Marion; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Murphy and Connie Sheetz; and a brother, James Watt.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service.

Memorials may be directed to Columbus Catholic High School or St. Edward’s Catholic Church.
