CEDAR FALLS - Clifford W. Satre, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Dec. 2, at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

He was born Jan. 30, 1924, in Jewell, son of Emil and Hannah Brue Satre. Clifford married Margaret L. Millang on Sept. 3, 1950, in Randall.

Mr. Satre graduated from Randall High School in 1942 and from Iowa State University in 1950 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Before moving to Cedar Falls in 1974, he worked for Frye Carbon Paper, Des Moines. He retired from Doerfer Engineering in 1980.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Mark of Sacramento, Calif., and Jeff (Leslie) of Story City; two daughters, Jennifer Davis of Ames and Nancy Cahill of Waterloo; nine grandchildren, Josh and Rachel Rivenbark, Nathan (Erin) Davis, Erin (Andy) English, Emily (Todd) Green, Melanie (Greg) Anderson, and Jordyn, Kiley and Collin Cahill; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Davis, Hunter Green and Hudson English; and many nephews and nieces.

Preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Vernal, Kenneth and Irving; and four sisters, Fern Kyle, Arlene Severson, Myrtle Johnson and Iola Satre.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Randall. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church and Riverside Bible Camp, Story City.
