ANESVILLE -- Ray E. McKinney, 89, of Janesville, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013.

He was born Nov. 19, 1924, in Fullerton, N.C., son of James L. and Margaret Jones McKinney. He married Grace Bonorden on March 25, 1950, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. McKinney was owner and operator of M and J Oil in Cedar Falls for many years, retiring in 1991. He also farmed for many years.

Survived by his wife; a son, James “Rusty” of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Barbara (Dirk) Abben of Waterloo; three stepgrandchildren, Trinity, Katrina and Denis Abben, all of Waterloo; a brother, Clifford (Lucy) McKinney of Edmond, Okla.; and a sister, Pearl Crick of Guthrie, Okla.

Preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Roy, Lewis, Henry and Johnnie.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
