Henry Munger, well known and highly esteemed in Cedar Falls and vicinity, peacefully and triumphantly passed from the dark shadows and conflicts of life to the realms of celestial light and seraphic joy on the 27th at his home in Fayette, Iowa.

The deceased had his birth in Claverraek, Columbia Co., New York, April 11th*, 1809. Early in life he became a Christian and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church when a young
man.

He was married May 7th, 1831, to Agnes McFarlane, unto whom ten children were born. In 1856 he moved on a farm near Cedar Falls, where, in 1869, his wife died. In 1870 he moved to Fayette, Iowa, where he was married to Mrs. Webb, who survives him.

His disposition was happy and cheerful, his tastes simple. He was quiet and unassuming in manner, averse to display, his Christian faith strong and sincere.

In the last few weeks of his life, though daily weaker and suffering much, he was never heard to complain.,

He leaves his wife, six children and many relatives and friends to mourn.

The remains were brought to this city Saturday night and the funeral services were held at the M. E. church Sabbath at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Dr. Bowman, assisted by Rev. Hurlburt. All of the near relatives were present except the wife, who was unable to come, and two sons, Ed Munger, of Waverly, Ill, Albert Munger, of New Hartford, Mrs. Mary Stearns, of Waterloo, and Mrs. David Pixley, of Mt. Vernon Township, were present at the funeral.
