EVANSDALE - Shirley M. Huebner, 71, of Evansdale, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, from complications of leukemia.

She was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Chickasaw County, daughter of Fred and Bertha J. Muller Mayo. She married Henry R. Huebner Jr. on June 9, 1957, in Fredericksburg. He died Sept. 23, 2001.

Mrs. Huebner graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1954 and was confirmed at St. Paul#'s Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg. She was employed at A&P Grocery Store, Chamberlain Manufacturing Co. and Rath Packing Co. She retired from IBP, then worked at Allen Memorial Hospital. Her last job was working for the Waterloo Community Schools.

Survivors include two daughters. Deborah "Deb" (Dale) Moeller of Dunkerton and Connie (Kenny) Lynch of Independence; and three grandchildren, Ryan (Jenni) Moeller, and Stephanie and Taylor Lynch.

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Public visitation 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorial fund has been established.

Shirley enjoyed fishing, baking and gardening, but most of all, she loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
