WATERLOO - Leonard Francis Sbiral, 75, of Waterloo, died at home Monday, April 24, 2006 of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Winneshiek County, son of Stephen and Stella Novotny Sbiral. He married Darlene Frank on Jan. 25, 1951, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Schley.

Mr. Sbiral was a graduate of Rudolphinum High School, Protivin. He was employed with Rath Packing Co. for 20 years. He also was employed with John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 25 years, retiring in 1991.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jocelyn (Rodney) Andreassen of Bondurant and Kay Sbiral of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Katie (Elias) Ojiambo of Ankeny, and Matthew and Jared Andreassen, both of Bondurant; and a sister-in-law, Helen Wenthold of Calmar.

Preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven; two daughters, Mary Therese Sbiral and Mary Margaret Sbiral; and two brothers, Louis and Alvin.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Waterloo, with a 2 p.m. burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Protovin. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
