WATERLOO - Frank Dean Rolf, 72, of Oelwein, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Allen Hospital from complications of cancer.

He was born Dec. 30, 1933, in Oelwein, son of Henry Irving and Clara U. Webster Rolf. He married Marie Jans on April 7, 1956, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fairbank. She died in 1986.

Mr. Rolf had served in the U.S, Army and was a retired postal carrier for the Waterloo Post Office.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane (Tim) Bohlen of Adel and Laura (David) Severson of Evansdale; four sons, Joseph of Woodward, Michael (Julie) of Ankeny, Patrick of Independence and Frank (Christene) of Raymond; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Delores) of Montana; and two sisters, Winnefred Blum and Eleanor (Jack) Holden, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a son, James.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Public visitation 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Woods Funeral Home, Fairbank, with a 7 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation also from 10 a.m. until services Friday at the church.
