CEDAR FALLS -- Wayne Hugo Cave, 78, of Del Rio, Texas, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013.

He was born Sept. 22, 1935, in Wheatland, Wyo., son of Enos and Dorthea Cave. He married Martha Ann Jones in 1957.

He graduated from Ponca City (Oklahoma) High School and received a degree in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University. Mr. Cave was a test engineer for Automotive Research Associates, San Antonio, before going to work for John Deere, Waterloo. He retired as manager of fuel and lubricants for all John Deere equipment in 1998. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Del Rio, a 55-year member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and a member and past commander of US Power Squadrons. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Carl Wayne (Rhonda) of Johnson City, Texas, and Paul Raymond (Dawn) of Philpot, Ky.; a daughter, Sherrie Lynn Martin of Asherton, Texas; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters.

Memorial services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Episcopal Church, Del Rio.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. James Episcopal Church, Wayne H. Cave Memorial, PO Box 1129, Del Rio, TX 78841-1129.

Following retirement, Wayne moved to Del Rio to boat and fish on Lake Amistad.
