WATERLOO - Karen M. Tyler, 53, of Waterloo, died at home Friday, Nov. 15, 2013.

She was born July 12, 1960, in Birmingham, Ala., daughter of John Gordon and Geraldine Ann “Jan” Walgren Napier. She married Roger Zimmer and they were divorced. She later married Robert Tyler.

She was a pharmacy technician at Falls Avenue Drug and later worked at Allen Memorial Hospital for 22 years.

Survived by two sons, Matt Zimmer of Evansdale and Daniel Zimmer (Layla Kimm) of Boone; a granddaughter; three sisters, Vicki (Leo) Evens of Waterloo, Kim (Matt) Murray of Louisville, Tenn., and Pam (Doug) Frost of Taylorville, Ill.; and a brother, John Napier Jr. of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Peter Zimmer.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Vineyard Community Church, 319 W. Bremer Ave., Waverly. A gathering of family and friends will take place following the service in the Airline Community Room at the Black Hawk County Conservation Building, 1346 W. Airline Highway, Waterloo. Kearns Funeral Service is assisting the family.
