WATERLOO - H.W. “Wally” Mulligan, 86, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born April 28, 1927, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, son of A.W. and Clara Orton Mulligan. He married Emerald “Merle” Anne Howland Williams on Nov. 12, 1947, in Toronto.

Mr. Mulligan received his education in Toronto and Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and attended St. John's College, Winnipeg. While in Canada he worked for Moore Business Forms for 19 years and then became director of operations for NCR's Systemedia division and later owned his own business. He was a member of St. James Gospel Chapel, Winnipeg, where he was Adult Bible Class teacher, choir director, Irish tenor soloist and a Child Evangelism Fellowship missionary in Prince Edward Island. After leaving Canada, he attended various Baptist churches.

Survived by his wife; a son, Bruce (Susan) of St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters, Beverley (Clark) Johnson of Waterloo and Ruth (Andrew) Morgan of Kennesaw, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; and two infant sisters.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery
