CEDAR FALLS – David P. Scallon, 53, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013 at his home.

He was born Dec. 17, 1959, in Waterloo, son of John “Jack” and Marjorie King Scallon. He married Jane Huebner on May 25, 1985, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Cedar Falls, and they later divorced. He married Mindy Jacobsen Anderson on Jan. 13, 2007, in Santa Anna, Calif.

Mr. Scallon graduated from Ackley Geneva High School in 1978 and Northwest Iowa Community College and attended the University of Northern Iowa. He was owner/operator of Adept Control Integration, Cedar Falls.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Luke (Diane) of Ames and Louis at home; a daughter, Laura Scallon of Chicago; a stepson, Nick Anderson of Salt Lake City; a stepdaughter, Carissa (Doug) Eagan of New Hampton; two grandchildren, Samuel and Nathanael; five step-grandchildren; his parents of Grimes; four brothers, Greg (Luann) of Waverly, Don (Deb) of Ackley, Bernie (Han) of Wayne, Pa., and Paul (Ann) of Cedar Rapids; five sisters, Mary Jo (Russ) Steinkamp of Carroll, Barb (Chris) Covert of West Des Moines, Teresa (Steve) Hunter of Lake in the Hills, Ill., Sharon Fiscus of Ankeny and Susan Geller of Grimes; and 32 nephews and nieces.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Scallon; and a stepson, Jake Anderson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Prairie Lakes Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ackley. Visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to hospice of donor’s choice.
