CEDAR FALLS - Katherine S. "Kate" LaPole, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 12, 1930, in Spencer, S.D., daughter of Arch and Beulah Crow Bunting. She married David LaPole on Dec. 8, 1951, in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2005.

She graduated from Jesup High School. She was employed most recently at Freeman's Cafe, Garfield's Cafe, and Hy-Vee on University Avenue in Waterloo. She was a member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church.

Survived by a son, Larry (Rosie) of Arvada, Colo.; a daughter, Lori (Gary Allocca) LaPole of Spring Hill, Fla.; two grandchildren, Christopher (Jalyn) LaPole of Canton, Ohio, and Rebecca LaPole of Fort Collins, Colo.; a great-granddaughter Abigail LaPole; two brothers, Marlyn (Glenola) Bunting of Jesup and Don (Reva) Bunting of Ames; five sisters, Margaret Opfer and Mary (Ted) Moody, both of El Cajon, Calif., Helen Gjovig of Coralville, Ruth Goins and Carol (Don) Elson, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles, Harold and Robert Bunting; and a sister, Camille Gjovig.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Heights Baptist Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
