WATERLOO - Roberta Andrews, 93, of Waterloo, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at her home of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 27, 1920, in St. Joseph, Mo., daughter of Harry J. and Addie Hoyman.

She graduated from Waterloo West High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She married Edward G. Andrews on Aug. 28, 1941. He died Jan. 24, 1990.

Survivors include a son, Edward F. (Cheryl) of Waterloo; six grandchildren, Kelly (Stacey) Andrews, Karla (Joe) Walker, Charlie (Julie) Andrews, Maggie (Rafael) Gonzalez, Sam Andrews, and Ella Andrews; six great-grandchildren, Nicole (Jeremiah) Stewart, Sean Renz, Tristan Walker, Austin, Aaron and Abby Andrews; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kyra and Jackson Stewart.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home on West Ridgeway and continue for one hour before services on Monday.

Memorials may be directed to Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Roberta was always independent and self-sufficient. She spent her life loving her family and taking care of her many grandchildren. She was a longtime active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She met and fell in love with her husband Ed while attending the original church on West 4th Street. Roberta was an excellent seamstress and avid gardener. She loved holiday celebrations with family and also enjoyed the daily Courier crossword puzzles.

Following the interment, everyone is invited to join the family for a luncheon at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
