LA PORTE CITY - Nora A. Kowalsky, 85, of 220 Valley Drive, No. 5B, La Porte City, formerly of Tripoli, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born May 31, 1920, in Sumner, Bremer County, daughter of Carl and Amelia Krause Kowalsky.

She graduated from Tripoli High School and was employed at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Crittenden Produce in Tripoli and Beatrice Foods in Fredericksburg, retiring in 1982.

She was at home in Tripoli until October 2004 when she moved to La Porte City.

Survived by a sister, Viola Halver of McAllen, Texas; three brothers, Arnold and Dalton (Marjorie) Kowalsky, both of La Porte City, and Harvey Kowalsky of Houston; and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a stillborn twin sister.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at the American Lutheran Church, La Porte City, with burial in Faith United Church of Christ Cemetery, Tripoli. Friends may call for an hour before services Monday at the church. Huisman Funeral Home, La Porte City, 342-3131, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Faith United Church of Christ, Tripoli.
