Chris Larson, 82. of 914 Wellington St., died at 7:35 p. m. Sunday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of a stroke.

He was born the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Larson on Jan. 17, 1881, in Benton County. He married Martha Haines on Sept. 28, 1910, at Blairstown. He farmed in the Blairstown community until 1939. They then moved to Dike, where they remained until 1944, then coming to Waterloo. In his later years, Mr. Larson did carpenter work. He was a member of the First Methodist Church.

Surviving are his widow; one son. Lloyd C. Larson,of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Mrs. Hugh Rogers, 604 W. 20th St., Cedar Falls; Mrs. Elmer Rasmussen, Rt. 3; Mrs. Forest Ross of 320 Butler St.; six sisters, Mrs. Anna Dobbie of Chicago; Miss Nellie Larson of Chicago; Miss Carrie Larson of Chicago; Mrs. Ellen Lindquist of Ronan, Mont.; Mrs. Mary Gilbert of Marengo; Mrs. Jennie Schmoelling of Blairstown; 14 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two sisters and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a. m. at the First Methodist Church with Dr. Floyd Hinshaw, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Marengo Cemetery. The casket will be taken from Parrolt &
Wood funeral home to the church at 9 a. m. Wednesday. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p. m. Monday.
