Robert L. Stewart, 85, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, in Belen, N.M.

Bob was born and reared in Waterloo. Bob enlisted in the National Guard in June 1939. He proudly entered into active service in February 1941. Bob was sent overseas and remained overseas for 38 months in the 133rd Battalion of the Infantry, Headquarters Company. After 30 years occupation in the field of chemical engineering, his retirement activities were spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, traveling, music and sports, which made his life complete.

Bob leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Wilma; son, John and wife Sharon of Grand Forks, N.D.; daughters, Mary Ann Parks and husband Charles of Pleasantville, and Patricia Stewart of Deming, N.M. Also an important part of his family are five grandsons, one granddaughter and four great granddaughters.

As Bob respectfully requested, cremation has taken place. No services will be held at this time. Services will be held in Iowa when the family gets together in May.
