LA PORTE CITY - Robert A. Harting, 81, of rural La Porte City, died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

He was born March 18, 1924, in rural LaPorte City, son of Arthur and Marie Weltzin Harting. He married Mary Palmer Moline on Jan. 25, 1986, in rural La Porte City.

Mr. Harting was a life-long farmer in the La Porte City/Jubilee area and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. He was a 1942 graduate of La Porte City High School and a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church, Jubilee.

Survivors include his wife; stepchildren; many stepgrandchildren and a stepgreat-grandchild.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lee; and special friend, Robert Clark.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Jubilee with burial in Jubilee Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Huisman Funeral Home, La Porte City, is in charge of arrangements.
