MRS. J. P. KING, 75, DIES AT HER HOME

Resident of Waterloo for 50 Years - Succumbs After Stroke of Apoplexy.

Mrs. J. P. King, 75, a resident of Waterloo 50 years, died at 4:20 p.m. yesterday at her home, 436 Edwards street, following a stroke of apoplexy.

Mrs. King was born April 7, 1850, at Pennsville, O. She was married Oct. 2, 1870, to Johnson P. King. The couple came to Waterloo in 1875 and had resided here since. The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. King, nearly five years ago, is remembered by many.

Deceased was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist church, Temple Rebekah lodge No. 54, and the Woman’s Relief Corps.

Surviving besides her husband, are the following children: Mrs. Lulu B. Merriau and F. L. King, of Waterloo; Mrs. Alice K. Rhinesmith, Charles City, Ia.; and Mrs. Harriet J. Card, Kansas City, Mo.; also five brothers and two sisters in Ohio. The body is at the Kistner funeral home.
