James W. White, 77, of 2614 Kenyon Avenue, died Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at University Hospital, Iowa City, Ia. Immediate cause of death was not know here Wednesday afternoon.

He was born in Anamosa, Ia., April 14, 1891. Twice married, his first wife preceded him in death. He married Mrs. Emma Staley, his second wife in Anamosa in 1903. He was a member of the Salvation Army.

Surviving are five sons, James, Anamosa, Fred W. 1725 Plymouth Avenue; Scottie H., 1324 South Street, and Dale D., at home; four daughters: Mrs. Frank Graves, Sumner, Ia.; Mrs. Ernest Sampica, Maywood Addition; Mrs. William McMurrin, Cedar Rapids, Ia., and Mrs. Ray Irons, 70 Garden Avenue; four sisters: Mrs. Mabel Moneypenny, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Rose McRoberts, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Lydia McFarlane, Waubeck, Ia.; two brothers, George, Cedar Rapids, and Samuel, Denver, Colo.; 52 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Richard D., killed in Germany, Jan 7, 1945, and Harold, who died Nov;, 29, 1932.

Mr. White lived in Waterloo since 1928. The body is being brought to Kistner Funeral Home.
