WATERLOO - Daniel "Dan" McIntyre Sulentic, 49, of Westminster, Calif., formerly of Waterloo, died at home Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, from pancreatic cancer.

He was born April 20, 1964, in Waterloo, son of Catherine and Anton Sulentic. He married Teresa White, and they later divorced.

He attended Hoover Junior High School and graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1982. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Desert Storm and later in Iraq with the Army Reserves. He also started Suncastle Construction, Garden Grove, Calif.

Survived by a daughter, Mia McIntyre Sulentic of Garden Grove; his parents, Catherine Sulentic of Larbert, Scotland, and Anton Sulentic of Waterloo; a brother, Dr. Jon (Courtney) Sulentic of Middletown, Ohio; his longtime companion, Julie Pham of Westminster; his former wife of Garden Grove; two uncles, Milo Sulentic of Hibbing, Minn., and Thomas Davidson of Larbert; and an aunt, Janette (Jeoff) Birt of Plumpton, Australia.

Services were handled by Diamond & Shannon Mortuary, Garden Grove.

In later years Dan gave his love and devotion to his daughter, his loving companion Julie, his country and his business.
