Mrs. Clair Barlow, 65, a former Waterloo resident, died yesterday at Bradenton, Fla. of cancer. Funeral services are tentatively set for Wednesday at the Shannon Funeral Hoihe in Bradenton and burial will also fad there.

Mrs. Barlow worked at Hinson Division of Royal Industries for 25 years until she retired in April, 1969. She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church

She was born Thelma Messer, Oct. 14, 1905, in Waterloo, the daughter of Eli and Lydia Trepp Messer. She was married to Clair Barlow on June 7, 1926 in Waterloo.

Survivors include her husband, her mother, Mrs. Lydh Messer of Bradenton, three daughters, Mrs. Betty Van Nice of 921 Hawthorne Ave., Mrs Suzanne Gray of Fort Dodge Mrs. Rita Humbley of Albany Ga., one son, Lt. Col. Earl Barlow, now stationed in Vietnam with the Air Force, 14 grand children, one sister, Mrs. Netha Petty of Bradenton, and two brothers, Vein Messer of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Clinton Messer of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her father and one son.
