WATERLOO - Opal Variee Landau, 94, of Waterloo, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Waterloo, daughter of William "Ross" and Sarah Harriet Rowe Holley. She married Eugene Miller on Dec. 6, 1941, in Waterloo; he preceded her in death. She later married Carl C. Landau on Sept. 13, 1966, in Galena, Ill.; he also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Landau graduated in 1938 from Waterloo East High School, and had worked as a secretary for Young Plumbing and Heating, retiring in 1983. She was member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Survived by a son, Orrin Miller of Waterloo; a stepson, Richard (Jane) Landau of Hudson; three stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, LaMoyne (Dorothy) Holley of Weyauwega, Wis.

Preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edwin Holley in infancy, and Curtis Holley; and three sisters, Dorothea Brinker, Mardell Smith and Berniece Morkel.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, and an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the church at 810 Kimball Ave., Waterloo 50702
