Everett L. Ohrt, 71, of 1539 E. Mitchell Ave., died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 1991, at Covenant Medical Center at Kimball Avenue, of cancer.

He was born Sept. 6, 1919, in La Porte City, son of Louis H. and Hattie Bromell Ohrt. He married Ruth Geraldine Billington on Dec. 17, 1949, in Waterloo.

Mr. Ohrt was employed in the office at Rath Packing Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1982.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Paul, James, Timothy and Mark; a daughter, Norma Jean Ohrt; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Hartema of Waterloo; and two brothers, Kenneth of Waterloo and Raymond of Oelwein.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Wesleyan Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be given to First Wesleyan Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
