Ruth F. Denlinger, 89, of Friendship Village, died Sept. 1 of natural causes.

She was born March 4, 1902, in Waterloo, daughter of Curtis J. and Mary M. Stephens Spafford. She married William J. Denlinger on Dec. 3, 1941, in Waterloo. He died July 4, 1974.

She was a bookkeeper at National Tea Co. for 21 years, retiring in 1964.

She is survived by an adopted daughter, Virginia Elrod of Waterloo; and a sister, Beth Spafford, of Friendship Village.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elmwood Cemetery. The Kearns, Huisrnan-Schumacher Chapel on Kimbal! is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Black Hawk Humane Society.
