CEDAR FALLS - Irene ”Johnnie” Johnson Moody, 92, of Cedar Falls and formerly of Waterloo, died at home Friday, Oct. 11, 2013.

She was born Dec. 1, 1920, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Ole and Dagny Kaae Johnson. She married C. M. “Mike” Moody Oct. 4, 1947, in Waterloo. He preceded her In death in April 1988.

Mrs. Moody was educated in a one-room school west of Cedar Falls and graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1938. She was a graduate of Allen Memorial Hospital Lutheran School of Nursing in 1945. She was a registered nurse at Schoitz Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, for many years, retiring in 1982.

Survived by a son, Joe (Cindy of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Matthew Moody; and a sister, Dorothy (Ralph) Bloker, of Janesville.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Elmer John, Tom and Dan; a daughter, Annette Moody; two brothers, Harry Johnson and Don Johnson; and a sister, Harriet Johnson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Ansgar Lutheran Church, with inurnment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to St. Ansgar Lutheran Church, Cedar Valley Hospice, or Covenant Auxiliary.
