Jerry Llewellyn was born April 28, 1934, in Alpha, Iowa, the son of George and Alda E. (Trewin) Llewellyn. He graduated from Iowa State Teachers College High School in 1952. He went on to serve his Country in the United States Army from November 6, 1956-November 5, 1958.

He married Sylvia Denholm. He was with the Cedar Falls Fire Department for 37 years, retiring as Chief (1987-1993) on July 3, 1993. He was past President of both the Cedar Falls Boat Club and the Main Street Social Club.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Cedar Falls; sons, Jay of Waterloo, Mike (Chris) of Waterloo and Shawn of Urbandale; six grandchildren, Alissa, Jordan, Jenny, Nathan, Luke and Max; mother, Alda Folsom of Cedar Falls; sister, Margaret Watkins of Sommerville, SC; half-brother, Tim Llewellyn of Tiverton, RI; half-sister, Georgia Sue Johnson of Griswold; step-brother, Jack Folsom of Waverly and step-sister, Janice Osborn of Waverly.

Jerry died Monday, September 20, 2004, at his home in Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Llewellyn; grandson, Jackson Llewellyn and step-father, John Folsom.
