WATERLOO - William D. Brallier, 90, of Waterloo, died Friday, June 17, 2005, at the Western Home Martin Center, Cedar Falls, of natural causes.

He was born March 13, 1915, in Garrison, son of William Edward and Dora Ann Anderson Brallier. He married Gladys Waddell on Feb. 7, 1953, in Waterloo. She died Aug. 27, 1994.

Mr. Brallier served his country in the European Theater of combat in the U.S. Army from 1940 to 1946. He and his wife made their home in Waterloo where he was a 30-year employee with John Deere Co., retiring in 1974. Over the years he also was a member of the UAW Local 838, and if you couldnt find him, most likely he was fishing.

Survivors include two sons, William Jr. (Sandy) of Evansdale and Thomas of Cedar Falls; two sisters, Peggy Brallier of Waterloo and Cindy (Bruce) Scheer of Cedar Falls; and four grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Earl; and four sisters, Genevieve Everts, Leota Clay, Hazel Burrows and Jane Brallier in infancy.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at the Western Home Communities chapel, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Friends may call for an hour before services Monday at the Western Home. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Western Home Communities or Cedar Valley Hospice.
