WATERLOO - Paul I. Pagel, 64, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born March 28, 1941, in Minneapolis, son of Luverne and Marion Aaker Pagel. He married Jan Kline on March 14, 1964, in Waterloo, and they were later divorced.

Mr. Pagel received his Bachelor of Science degree from North Dakota State School of Science. He was employed with H&H and Deere & Company as a tool designer.

He loved playing cards and was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous. He loved his grandchildren very much.

Survivors include three sons, David of California, Scott (Teri) of California and Craig of Iowa City; a daughter, Kim (Marc) Michael of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; a brother, Ed (Darlene) of Bloomington, Minn.; and two sisters, Karen (Bob) Colin of Elk River, Minn., and Marty (Jim) Boman of Burnsville, Minn.

Preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Shaefer.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday and for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
