LA PORTE CITY - Robert Burrows, 84, of White Springs, Fla., formerly of La Porte City, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at Lake City VA Medical Center, Lake City, Fla., following a lengthy illness.

He was born Sept. 1, 1929, son of Ray and Hazel Brallier Burrows.

Mr. Burrows graduated from La Porte City High School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked in sales most of his life.

Survived by his wife, Shirley; a daughter, Shari (Richard) Eicher of Oxford, Ala.; two stepdaughters, Virginia (Jeff) Tippens of Lake City and Ginger (Marlin) Powell of White Springs; two grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Darlene Mueller of Dewar and Ruby Dodson of Carlsbad, Calif.; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Burrows of La Porte City.

Preceded in death by his parents; a stepson, Bruce Cason; five brothers, Floyd, Leonard, Cecil, Burdell, and Leland in infancy; three sisters, Loraine Taylor, Lois Primmer and Vera McClung; and a granddaughter.

Services were Oct. 5 at Lake City Church of the Nazarene, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, White Springs.
