WATERLOO -- Gwendolyn M. Meyer, 92, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at the Western Home Martin Health Care Center, Cedar Falls.

She was born Oct. 1, 1921, on a farm in Farmersburg Township, Clayton County, daughter of William and Emma Glawe Bruns. She married Alvin A. “Allen” Meyer on April 12, 1939, in Elkader; he died July 24, 1992.

Mrs. Meyer was a homemaker, and formerly worked at Black’s Department Store, Waterloo, and Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Survived by three daughters, Donna (Lee) Rausch of Tripoli, and Betty (Gary) Reif and Connie (Jim) Droste, both of Waterloo; thee sons, Alvin (Vivian) and Francis (Sandra), both of Waterloo, and James (Karen) of Mechanicsville, Va.; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; a grandson; four sisters, Dorothy Bruns, Lucille Wagner, Gladys Dietrich and Annes Mohr; and five brothers, Everett, William, Norbert, Ed and Herb Bruns.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, and an hour before services Saturday at the Church.
