CEDAR FALLS - Doris M. Denning, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at home.
She was born March 2, 1920, in Osage, daughter of Martin and Olive Woodiwiss Havig. She married Vernon Brunner, and they later divorced. She married William Denning on June 24, 1950, in Nashua.
Mrs. Denning had worked at Marr Knitting Mill, Osage, then for the Cedar Falls Community School System Food Service until retiring.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael (Sharon) Brunner of Fort Dodge and Richard (Gloria) Brunner of Toeterville; a daughter, LuAnn Dempsey of Old Town, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Vicki (Tom) Phelan of St. Louis, Cynthia (Guy) Sorensen of Glouchester, Va., and Julie (Rich) Driscoll of Evansdale; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marlin Havig of Osage and Wayland Havig of Davenport; and a sister, Marguerite Tosel of Mason City.
Preceded in death by two sisters, Allena Gardner and Gloria Bucknell.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. Rebekah Lodge memorial service. Visitation also for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
A memorial fund has been established and may be directed to the family.
