LA PORTE CITY — Fern L. Meier, 94, of La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center, died Monday, June 16, 1997, at the center after a brief illness.

She was born July 21, 1902, in Van Home, daughter of Frank and Anna Meyer Pegump. She married Gilbert Bobzien on April 12, 1992, in Van Horne. He died April 11, 1973. She married George Meier on Nov. 19, 1974, in Van Home. He died Jan. 31,1975.

Survived by a son, William of La Porte City; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by an infant daughter; and two brothers, Floyd and Dalton Pegump.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Van Home, with burial in Mound Cemetery, Watkins. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Phillips Funeral Home, Keystone.
